With reference to paragraph 6 of my

confidential despatch dated the 2nd September, 1937,

I have the honour to inform you that four Resolutions

on the subject of expenditure of Loan Funds, copies of

Encls.1,2,3 and 4. which are enclosed, were passed at the meeting of the

Encl.5.

Legislative Council held on the 29th September, 1937,

and to request your approval of the revised appropriations and Schedules set forth therein. copy of the speech made by the Financial Secretary in proposing the Resolutions is also enclosed.

Meanwhile in view of the approval conveyed

in your telegram No.112 of 14th July, 1937, I have

authorized the expenditure during the current year of

the sums, amounting to $170,000, set forth in Column 3

of the Schedule to the fourth Resolution.
